The CSH series concentric separate head laser system, with its precision ground aluminum housing, allows field replacement of the laser head with dependable beam pointing reliability.

The tubular aluminum housing is centerless ground to tight tolerances. The runout and diameter are maintained to within 0.001 inch (0.025 mm). This allows beam pointing consistency throughout a 360 degree roll rotation of the laser housing.

This series of precision aligned cylindrical head lasers was designed for industrial and general purpose use. Each model consists of a hard seal laser tube mounted in a precision aluminum housing, and connected to a separate power supply enclosure with a 72 inch long cable. The power supply connection is through a metal, positive locking BNC type connector. This provides an extra measure of safety over non locking 2 prong plastics connectors. As with our standard separate head series lasers (SH series), the internal ballast resistors are completely encapsulated to prevent internal arcing and electrical shock.

The laser plasma tube is manufactured using state of the art technology, incorporating high temperature bakeout, ultra pure cathodes, and direct glazing (hard sealing) of the mirrors to the resonator tube. The laser tube is then mounted into the aluminum housing using a technique that ensures centering accuracy, and tolerance to relatively high mechanical shock levels.

Each laser head is equipped with an easy to operate beam shutter control. The shutter control does not extend beyond the cylindrical perimeter of the housing. There are no protruding screws, bolts or levers extending beyond the surface of the cylindrical housing. CSH lasers are fitted with a 1 inch, 32 TPI internally threaded nose bezel, which will accept most industry standard optional accessories.

The power supplies, PS-2A for 0.5, 1 and 2mW models, and the PS-3A for the 5mW model, are of the DC switcher type, providing up to 84% wall plug efficiency. As a consequence, the power supplies are virtually noiseless, and run very cool. The power electronics is encapsulated for protection against moisture and particulate contamination, and to provide maximum protection against high voltage arcing and electrical shock. The module is mounted in a rugged ABS plastic enclosure with rubber mounting feet. The emission indicator, HV connector and ON-OFF switch (toggle type for 0.5, 1 and 2mW models, and key swittch for 5mW models) are located on the front panel. The line cord and fuse holder are on the rear panel.

JODON can also provide a NEMA-12 type enclosure for heavy duty industria; environments, or custom enclosures tailored to suit individual application requirements. The power supply for the 5mW models is the PS-3A HD, and PS-2A HD for the others. Custom enclosures can also be tailored to suit individual application requirements.
