ACLP Series Focusable Line Projectors

The ACLP-3 focusable line projector is designed to change a round, low divergence, Helium Neon laser beam to a high divergence , thin plane of light. Unlike a simple, cylindrical lens line projector, the ACLP-3 series employs an optical system that permits the user to focus the projected light plane to a minimum thickness at any distance within its range.
The focusing feature offers flexibility in adjusting light brightness and edge sharpness. A natural laser beam has gaussian intensity distribution. This means that the laser beam is brightest in the center, with the intensity decreasing toward the outer perimeter. As the beam passes through the optical system, the gaussian intensity distribution is maintained across the line width and along it s length.
The focusing mechanism, like that of a photographic camera, does not rotate the lenses. This maintains the position of the projected line during focusing. The optics are anti-reflection coated for maximum transmission efficiency in the visible spectrum. A selection of optics is available for optimizing line intensity and divergence.
