ALC-5 Focusable Laser Collimator
The ALC-5 is a focusable collimator designed to reduce the overall divergence of a helium-neon laser beam by a factor of roughly 5. This enables the user to project a laser beam over relatively long distances while keeping the spot size proportionally small. The ALC-5 can be continuously focused, enabling the user to adjust the spot diameter to a desired size at a given range. The technical data describes various ranges and the corresponding minimum spot size.
The optics are fully coated to keep the beam bright. The mechanical assembly is constructed of black anodized aluminum. Adjusting the spot size does not rotate the optics so the spot stays put and realignment of laser is not required after focusing. The ALC-5 can be mounted into any female 1″-32tpi threaded bezel. This is the most common optical mounting format, so it will fit on a wide range of competitive lasers.
