FLC-5 COLLIMATOR

There are many situations that require one to to project a laser beam over relatively long distances. A typical unmodified laser beam diverges at approximately 1 to 1.5 milliradians (mr).Although this number is small, it calculates to a 54mm diameter spot at 100 feet (254cm). It is easy to see that at even short distances , the unmodified beam can become large enough to limit its usefulness.
Our collimator is an optical device that increases the initial beam diameter by a factor of 5, while reducing the divergence by roughly the same amount. using the same situation as above, the spot size at 100 feet would have a manageable diameter of 9.65mm. The initial beam diameter would be approximately 4.57mm.
The optics are specially designed and coated to yield over 95% transmittance at the 632.8nm wavelength. The collimator is suitable for all Jodon series lasers. The physical dimensions of the collimator are 3.45 inches long and 1.38 inches diameter. The collimator mount has a 1inch 32 TPI female thread for use with Jodon HN-05/2 SH laser heads. A 1inch 32 TPI nipple adapter is included for coupling it to other manufacturers’ laser nose bezels that use a 1-32 threaded mount.

* Because the spot size is gaussian (most intense at the center and dim at the edges), the spot size is somewhat subjective. The spot size figures are theoretical and rounded off.
