Model LPSF-100
Model LPSF-100 Spatial Filter is a compact, versatile instrument especially designed for the needs of holography and optical data processing. The instrument consists of a pinhole movable along the X and Y axes, and a standard microscope objective movable along the Z axis. The pinhole is mounted in a 7/8″ diameter ring magnet. The magnet, which glides on Teflon pads against a steel plate, is made to traverse laterally by precision micrometer screws mounted along the X and Y axes. Motion of the input microscope objective along the Z axis is produced by using a fine-pitched screw to move a precision dove-tail translator assembly. The action is smooth in all three axes, and there is no detectable lash or side play. The mechanism is sensitive enough to allow the use of pinholes as small as 3 microns, and microscope objectives of 60X or greater.
Versatility of the instrument is enhanced by the easily removable magnet pinhole assembly. This feature allows the subject and reference beams of a holographic system to be arranged before the pinhole is inserted and adjusted. Where critical applications demand it, the pinhole can be removed, and replaced, without having to touch the alignment controls.
The instrument is constructed of black anodized aluminum. A threaded 1/4-20 tpi mounting hole is located in the bottom of the instrument, and a 1/2″ diameter x 6″ long mounting rod is furnished. Included with the instrument is an international standard 10X microscope objective, and a pinhole assembly with a 25 micron pinhole. Other pinhole sizes, and microscope objectives choices are optionally available for added instrument versatility.
